Herndon, VA — Volkswagen of America has announced that it will be the Official Electric Vehicle Sponsor of the EV road trip series, “What Fuels You,” by filmmaker, Erika Gilsdorf, who will be embarking on a multi-month drive beginning this week in the brand’s all-electric ID.4 Pro S AWD vehicle across several states. Starting in Minnesota, Gilsdorf will drive her way through the snowy scenery and mountains all the way to the Great Plains while filming people and businesses that are driving change in their communities along the way.
While Gilsdorf has embarked on road trips before to create video content, this will be her first time driving a fully electric vehicle, hoping to highlight that an electric vehicle is capable of a long road trip and fun to drive.

The route, which will kick off in Detroit Lakes, MN, will stop in several cities along the 4,000+ mile drive including Denver, Breckenridge, Aspen, Sundance, Salt Lake City and Nebraska City. Gilsdorf will be traveling solo and capturing her journey through a series of micro videos on Instagram Stories/Reels and TikTok. The route will also include recharging the vehicle at Electrify America charging stations, among other available EV charging opportunities along the way.
