ID.4 Range & Performance

With an all-electric powertrain, Caps drivers can take on the road in the new VW ID.4. The all-electric powertrain delivers 335 horsepower in its top configuration and can tow up to 2,700 pounds. The largest battery, 82-kilowatt-hour, also affords 291 miles of driving range in the most efficient setup, achieving 122 miles per gallon equivalent city and 103 miles per gallon equivalent highway. Rear- and all-wheel drives are available, and there is some variation in the performance based on the configuration.

Exterior Design

VW favors a sporty design and just a shade of futuristic. As an electric vehicle, the ID.4 doesn't have a grille. Instead, a narrow grille-like band connects the two teardrop-shaped headlamps. The front bumper features geometric lower cladding and recessed covers that house the fog light. The whole way along the bottom of the car, the cladding traces the wheel wells and lower panels, too.

The ID.4's profile is decidedly aerodynamic and features a short rear gate with Sportback styling. There is also a lovely panoramic sunroof option. Limited chrome accents add verve, and black accents provide a sleek form.
