The 2025 VW ID.7 will initially debut with one powertrain configuration: a single electric motor that drives the wheels with 282 horsepower and a stout 402 pound-feet of torque. An all-wheel-drive variant will become available later in the launch cycle, increasing output to 335 horsepower. The VW ID.7 will draw energy from an 82-kWh battery pack similar to the VW ID.4. While Volkswagen has yet to provide specific range figures, the ID.7 is more streamlined than its compact crossover sibling, and its aerodynamic fastback design could contribute to an estimated range of around at least 300 miles per charge, likely more.
